Publication of Alluvial Mineral Occurrences Map

MRT has recently published a new 1:500,000 Alluvial Mineral Occurrences of Tasmania Map. This map shows the individual recorded alluvial occurrences as well as mineral fields throughout Tasmania and complements the Mineral Deposit and Metallogeny of Tasmania map which was updated in 2017.

Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) - Round 2 Applications Closed

The Tasmanian State Government, through the Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI), is offering grants for co-funded exploration drilling projects. Applications for the second round of grants closed on 29 March 2019 and it is expected that successful applicants will be announced in May 2019.

New Geological Maps Released

MRT announces the release of four new geological maps covering northwest Tasmania as part of the current (2016-2020) Geoscience Initiative. Recent Geological Survey mapping has resulted in these new and updated geology maps now becoming available to download from our map catalogue.

Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) - Round 2 Open for Applications

Round 2 of the Tasmanian State Government's, Exploration Drilling Grant Initiative (EDGI) is open for submissions. The program will preferentially fund high quality, technically and economically sound "greenfields" projects that promote innovative exploration or new exploration concepts and technology.
