TENEMENT BOUNDARIES / EXCLUSIONS
Exploration Licence boundaries are based upon AMG co-ordinates (Zone 55G), geographical features (e.g. coast) and administrative boundaries (e.g. National Parks).
Offshore Oil Permit boundaries are based upon geographical coordinates and State administrative boundaries.
Mining lease boundaries are derived from Mining Tenement maps of scales of 1:25 000 and larger.
The boundary of a polygon is the external boundary of a tenement only. Areas excluded from exploration licences or mining leases are not included in the data. Accordingly, the area (first item listed in the tables below), shown as an attribute to a polygon, is not necessarily the issued area of that tenement.
The data are intended as a graphical representation and should be used accordingly.
UPDATES
Whilst tenement data are maintained on Mineral Resources Tasmania's GIS on a day-to-day basis, data for downloading from this site are updated on the morning of the first day of the working week.
