Current Exploration Licences
Current exploration licence data (metallic minerals, non-metallic minerals and onshore oil) are available. This data set is maintained on a day-to-day basis. The data can be downloaded, free of charge, or can be supplied on floppy disc as regular updates, e.g. every month or quarter. The data are available as Arc/Info export files, Arcview shape files, or as MapInfo export files.

Historical Exploration Licences
A program for the capture of historical exploration licence data is in place and is being captured on an 'as time permits' basis.
Mining Leases
Current mining lease information is available. These data are maintained on a day-to-day basis.
There is no planned capture program for historic mining lease data.
The data can be downloaded free of charge, or can be supplied on floppy disc as regular updates, e.g. every month or quarter. The data are available as Arc/Info export files, Arcview shape files, or as MapInfo export files.

HISTORICAL EXPLORATION ACTIVITY DATA
These data originate from company exploration reports and include the locations of geological mapping, soil sampling, rock-chip sampling, stream-sediment sampling, drilling, gridding, track construction, remote sensing; airborne radiometrics, airborne magnetic surveys, ground electromagnetic surveys, ground magnetic surveys, gravity surveys, airborne electromagnetic surveys, seismic reflection surveys, seismic refraction surveys, environmental rehabilitation, ground radiometric surveys, and IP (including SP and resistivity) surveys.
The data are available on CD-ROM which contains:
- Spatial index metadata information, in Shapefile format only, derived from the open file TASXPLOR company exploration reports database. Note that the spatial index is only for those reports where actual 'on ground' exploration activity has taken place, therefore not all company exploration reports necessarily have a spatial index component.
- Textual file in csv format containing metadata information of the complete open file TASXPLOR company exploration reports database.
Please note that due to limitations in the software used to download these data from the Oracle database, some attribute field sizes have been truncated to 254 characters in length with some loss in the data.
Copies of open file company exploration reports are available for downloading using the document search facility. These documents can be large in size and downloading over small bandwidth systems can take a long time. It is recommended that a service provider be used for large volume downloading of information.
