Updated Individual and Group Prospecting Licence Terms

Mineral Resources Tasmania, in consultation with the public and relevant State regulatory bodies, has reviewed and improved current Prospecting licence and Group Prospecting licence policies. This has simplified the Group Prospecting Licence application process resulting in improved terms for individual Prospecting Licence holders.

Individuals: All licences issued on or after 1 July 2020 will be valid for 5 years.

Groups: Applicants may now choose the duration of the licence required which no longer need to be commercial in nature.  As a result, hobbyist clubs and school groups may now apply for Group Prospecting Licences.
