Annotation
The Tertiary sand and gravel near Port Sorell and Parkers Ford contain adequate supplies of groundwater for the township of Port Sorell. The quality may be marginal and may be related to the proximity to the coast. It is suggested to purchase the bore at Parkers Ford and possibly drill another close by. Alternatively a bore could be drilled on the western side of the Port Sorell township. If a bore is drilled adequate pump testing must be undertaken together with chemical and biological analysis of groundwater.
