Three Tertiary basins are interpreted with the survey verifying the presence of the third basin, termed the Sassafras basin. A bore indicated the presence of 330 m of Tertiary sediments and basalt in this latter basin. The survey failed to clarify the relationship between the Sassafras basin and the Wesley Vale and Port Sorell structures.
