Annotation

Site conditions for a proposed 600 tonne butane storage tank were investigated at Bell Bay. Seismic and magnetometer surveys indicate that dry unconsolidated sediments and strongly weathered basalt extends to depths of 4 m to at least 10 m. Materials are rippable to these depths. There does not appear to be a risk of instability at the proposed site.
