Annotation
Heavy mineral grade ranges from 0.1 - 6.0% in bulk channel sand samples, and from 14.2 - 39.7% in hand picked samples of dark banding or beach lag. Gold has been recognised in four samples over a 5km stretch of coast. Calculated recovered grades vary from <0.1 - 3.3 g/t, averaging 1.2 g/t. Preliminary examination of non-magnetic hm fractions show that both zircon and rutile are abundant enough to warrant further exploration, especially with Au, and possibly Sn, as bonus minerals.
