Reporting Guidelines

The reporting guidelines have been produced by Mineral Resources Tasmania to assist mineral tenement holders in Tasmania with the preparation and submission of reports on exploration and mining activity in accordance with reporting requirements detailed in the Mineral Resources Development Act 1995.

The requirements for the submission of reports are in place so that exploration and mining activities can be effectively monitored, assessed, and all relevant data can be captured.  This information will assist future explorers in the search for new mineral deposits in Tasmania.

Reporting Guidelines

To assist licence and lease holders with the preparation and submission of:

• Annual reports
• Final reports
• Partial surrender reports
• Annual returns
• Quarterly returns
• Please note: as of March 30, 2020, MRT only accepts digital copies of mineral tenement reports.

Templates for the submisson of digital data

Templates for the submission of digital tabular data have been developed by Mineral Resources Tasmania to comply with national standards specified by the Government Geoscience Information Committee (GGIC) presented in the Australian Requirements for the Submission of Digital Exploration Data at www.geoscience.gov.au/exploration.html.

The national standards are designed to ensure that essential metadata and supporting data types, such as authority tables, are included with tabular digital data. Templates that combine header metadata (as specified by the GGIC) with tabular data have been developed by Mineral Resources Tasmania for the following exploration data types:

• Downhole geochemistry Template DG-1

Template for the submission of geochemical analyses of drill hole samples (xls file).

• Downhole lithology Template DL-1

Template for the submission of drill hole lithology logs (xls file).

• Downhole survey Template DS-1

Template for the submission of drill hole deviation survey data (xls file).

• Quality assurance quality control Template QAQC-1

Template for the submission of laboratory/field duplicates, standards and blanks (xls file).

• Surface geochemistry Template SG-1

Template for the submission of geochemical analyses of surface samples (xls file).

• Surface location Template SL-1

Template for the submission of point location data for surface samples and drill hole collars (xls file).
