MRT Map Viewers

Mineral Resources Tasmania offers two general purpose map viewers with a broad range of MRT data layers, and one viewer focused specifically on prospecting.

MRT Map
This map viewer has been available for several years and is built on an older version of the LIST (Land Information System Tasmania).  This map viewer is best viewed on desktop or laptop devices.  Use this viewer if you wish to download data from the viewer.

New Map Viewer
Launched in October 2022, this map viewer is suitable for mobile devices as well as desktop.  This viewer does not support data download but does include some new functionality not available in the older viewer.  This includes the ability to filter various layers (exploration licences, bore holes, mineral occurrences, and samples), and querying of current and historic tenements.

Prospecting Access Map
Launched in September 2022, this map viewer is focused specifically on prospecting.  As such is contains just those layers relevant to prospecting and enables prospectors to quickly determine where that may and may not undertake prospecting.
