1:500 000 scale Digital Geology of Tasmania

This data set (geology) has been generalised from the 1:250 000 scale digital geology of Tasmania using ArcInfo GIS software.

The attribute information is stored in a series of tables in ArcInfo and spatial data can be supplied in Shape File format, or as MapInfo import/export files on CD-ROM.

Price: $55

Map

A computer generated map of the geology is available. Output is on an ink jet plotter, and lamination of maps is recommended where outside use is envisaged.

Price: $11 (lamination $11 extra)

1:250 000 scale Digital Geology of Tasmania

The data (geology and structure) are derived from the 1:25 000, 1:50 000 and 1:63 360 scale Geological Atlas Series maps, or where these maps do not exist, the best available information. The information from these maps has been generalised and compiled (at 1:50 000 scale) to fit the 1:250 000 scale digital topographical base of Land Information Services, Department of Primary Industries, Water and Environment.

The attribute information is stored in a series of tables in ArcInfo and spatial data can be supplied in Shape File format, or as MapInfo import/export files on CD-ROM.

This data set was revised in May 1998.

See index map.

1:250 000 scale Digital Geology Map Series packages

Northwest, Southwest, Northeast and Southeast Tasmania

The 1:250 000 scale geological data are available as data packages for each map area. The packages contain data on geology, structure, mineral deposit and construction material deposit locations (DEPOSITS), stream-sediment geochemistry sample locations, rock chemistry sample locations, and drillhole locations (DORIS). A georeferenced image of the map is also provided in ECW and TIFF formats.

Price: $55 (per map area)
