New charges effective immediately
The new Mining Resources Regulations 2026 were gazetted on Wednesday 22 April.
The following changes to MRT fees are now in force:

| Prospecting licence (for each 12-month period of the term of the licence – up to 5 years) | $38.20 |
| Group Prospecting licence (for each 12-month period of the term of the licence – up to 5 years) | $267.40 |
| Fee for collection of royalty on behalf of private owners (Cat 1, 2 or 5 minerals) | $544.35 |
| Fee for inspection of the register - section 194(2) of the Act - per tenement | $17.19 |
