The Geological Society of Australia has selected an MRT-supported paper entitled:

The Tasmanian Tyennan Domain -- a structural synthesis and review with tectonic and dynamic implications for continental margin subduction and exhumation

to receive the F. L. Stillwell Award for the authors of the best paper published by the Australian Journal of Earth Sciences (AJES) in 2024. The award is judged by the journal's editorial board and is supported by the Stillwell Bequest, honouring the legacy of Frank Leslie Stillwell.

The paper was authored by frequent MRT collaborator Dr David Gray (pictured top right), senior MRT geologist Michael Vicary (middle right) and former MRT Chief Geologist Dr Andrew McNeill (lower right). The AJES editorial board commended the paper for its excellence and contribution to the discipline [of geology].

In addition to Dr Gray's AJES research, MRT has published a series of papers on the Tyennan region by Dr Gray and Mr Michael Vicary over the past four years (GSP6 - GSP16) which can be found here under MRT papers...
